Support Leia's Urgent Medical Care

Ali is a dog trainer, foster, and bully breed advocate. She’s spent most of the past two days at the ER vet with her dog Leia, running test after test with no clear answers.

A few days ago, Leia was healthy and happy. Overnight, everything changed. What started as a swollen leg and possible soft tissue injury quickly turned into a mystery. Ali rushed her to the vet for x-rays, ultrasounds, blood tests, sedatives, and medications only to see things get drastically worse overnight. Her tongue swelled to twice its size, and raw lesions covered her mouth and leg. Within hours, those lesions turned dark, swelled, oozed, and started to necrotize, becoming infected. Leia is now hospitalized in the ICU on IV antibiotics and strong pain meds, fighting what vets believe may be either a venomous spider bite, chemical burn, or autoimmune disorder. Today she’ll have a dermatology consult and further testing, including cultures and a biopsy, to help determine a cause and course of action.

Ali has spent over $3,500 in 24 hours on vet bills. But after unexpectedly losing her job 2 weeks ago, she’s running out of resources and she refuses to give up on Leia. She’s poured her life into animals. Now she needs us to aid in Leia’s recovery.
