She is scheduled for surgery May 1st 2026!!!
Leia-Lynn Skywalker has been in my life since 2017. She was a stray dog that was found by a friend of my mother’s. Without a thought in my mind at the age of 22 years old I took her in ready to take up the responsibility of being her caregiver until the day she decides to depart from this life. Last year April 2025 we were playing with some of her favorite toys when I realized a lump in her breast that was concerning. I monitored it for a few months before taking her into the vet to get it checked out. The day of her doctors visit the vet had denied me the option to take some samples of the mass and instead told me to come back when I was ready for surgery. She told me the mass could be cancerous and I gave her the okay to take samples to ensure that it wasn’t cancerous. Fast forward to March 2026 I had another vet see her and was told that the surgery is needed to prevent her from getting an infection in her uterus they had found 3 masses in her breast. He didn’t hesitate to take samples and send them to the lab for further results and had already set me up with the surgeon for a consultation. I am not asking for much but I am asking for help (even though I know its not your job) however due to my crazy work life and schedule it has been hard to keep up with the cost of living, rent and keeping myself a float. I just want another 12 years with this little fur baby and I can’t see myself living without her. Anything helps and I appreciate you for listening to our story and sharing. stay grounded xxx
