Support Leia To Shine Bright Through Her Battle With Cancer

At just four years old, Leia Estrella is a bright and shining star, lighting up every room she’s in. Recently, she was diagnosed with stage 3 kidney cancer. Two days after diagnosis Leia underwent surgery at UCSF Children's Hospital, where one of her kidneys was removed as a first step in her fight against this illness. Her treatment plan includes 33 weeks of chemotherapy as well as multiple sessions of radiation.

Leia will be immunocompromised and will be unable to attend school this year. Her father, Dylan, recently quit his job to be at home with her and the family will be making weekly trips to San Francisco for treatment. Fortunately, the oncologists believe that she has a high chance of surviving and returning to a normal life after her treatment is complete.

Even with insurance, Jess and Dylan are facing significant financial challenges as they manage the costs of surgery, ongoing treatments in San Francisco, and extensive time away from work to care for their daughter.
