Ms. Marina is a 5th grade Spanish teacher at a language immersion school in the Denver metro area, and is authorized to work in the United States.
On Friday, October 24, Ms Marina and her family were detained by Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) while she was completing a routine appointment related to her immigration case.
Even though Ms. Marina and her family are currently in the United States with permission, and Marina has authorization to work in the United States under all applicable federal and state laws,
ICE arrested Marina and her family and transferred them to a family immigration detention facility in Texas.
This fundraiser is to support Ms Marina and her family with legal fees and any other costs associated with their detainment.
Thank you for your support in helping get the Ortiz family out of ICE custody and get Ms Marina back to her students who love her and get her sons back to school with their friends.
