My name is Justin Martin and I am running for county commissioner in Lubbock County. Recently the county Judge illegally removed another county commissioner on false grounds and a poor understanding of the law. This commissioner is having to fund his own legal defense. He currently has a son in college and a his wife is working on her masters degree to further her career. A fifty thousand dollar legal defense was not part of his monthly budget for December. This is an undue cost no one should have to bear by themselves. If he does not prevail county judges and other elected officials will be emboldened to deny the people their right to representation through the election process. The judge's actions go against everything for which the republic stands.
