Please make a donation to this worthy cause. Your donation will be used for the massive litigation costs in pursuing justice for 580 victims of Dr. Atiq Durrani, “The Butcher of Pakistan.”
There are pending lawsuits by the victims against Medical Protective, Durrani’s insurance company, for fraud; individual cases against Dr. Durrani; cases against Cincinnati Children’s Hospital; and more.
Litigation costs include expert fees, filing fees, depositions fees, staff salaries and countless other necessary and worthy expenses necessary to obtain justice for the victims.
Dr. Atiq Durrani performed over 500 unnecessary spine surgeries at Cincinnati area hospitals from 2005 through 2013. Over 100 took place at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital which boasts about being the number one ranked Children’s Hospital in the United States.
In 2013, a federal grand jury in Cincinnati indicted Durrani on over 30 counts of unnecessary spine surgeries and prescription fraud. Before his trial, he fled through Mexico and Brazil, back to Pakistan.
From 2013 to now, there has been an epic twelve-year legal battle raging, which includes:
1. Over 580 victims
2. Biased judges
3. The local media ignored the story based upon the hospitals’ advertising dollars.
4. The story is of national importance because it illustrates corporate, not patient driven, healthcare and how the legal system and court system is controlled by the same medical/legal establishment.
5. A lawyer blocked four doctors from sending a warning letter to the Ohio Medical Board which could have saved thousands from Durrani.
6. Efforts in 2013 led to Durrani being shut down and saved thousands from his surgery.
7. Nearly 100 men and women have died waiting for their trials.
8. At the rate trials are scheduled, trials will be held for over ten more years after the last ten years. The Ohio Supreme Court does nothing. Why? The medical and legal establishment elected the majority.
9. We have won a record number of verdicts, including the largest in Ohio history for a medical malpractice case. The total is $363,539,944.06. None of this has been collected yet.
10. Warren Buffett of Berkshire Hathaway owns Durrani’s insurance company, Medical Protective. In 2023, Warren Buffet gave away $5 billion, but the victims of Durrani- nothing.
11. In American history, no judge ever sealed jury verdicts. The Ohio judges sealed the Durrani victims’ verdicts.
There is a book written by Eric Deters named “The Butcher of Pakistan” which details it all.
