Hi, my name is Abby Mack, and I’m raising funds for Legacy of John, a deeply personal documentary project.
I’m a 20-year-old film student at the Savannah College of Art and Design with a passion for storytelling through film.
The only thing I love more than filmmaking is my family. This past year, my wonderful uncle, John Rohlwing, was diagnosed with Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CJD)—a rare, rapidly progressive, and fatal brain disorder. His diagnosis has changed not only his life, but all of ours.
John is a devoted father to four beautiful boys, ages 9, 7, 5, and 2. As his illness progresses, they continue to grow and thrive—but soon, they may not be able to remember his voice, his laugh, or the way he lights up a room.
Legacy of John is a way to preserve that light. My goal is to document John's life, not just his illness. Through interviews with John, his family, and his friends, I want to capture the essence of who he is—a loving husband, a dedicated father, a cherished friend.
This project means everything to me. It’s not just a film—it’s a legacy.
Your support will help cover film equipment and travel expenses needed to bring this documentary to life.
Every contribution, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to preserving John’s story for his children and for everyone who loves him.
Thank you for reading, sharing, and supporting.
