Left Field is an independent news, opinion and analysis media platform that launched in August 2026 – reporting the stories the mainstream media won't touch, the way they won’t tell them.

Left Field exists because the stories that matter to working-class communities, trade unionists and the left too often go unreported – or get reported badly – by the mainstream media.

We’re here to change that.

We’re a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee, founded by a like-minded collective of activists and led by the people who take part in it. We have no rich backers, and we never will.

We're also actively seeking grant funding from foundations and trusts that support independent journalism – but for now, our independence is funded entirely by people like you.

We give our time for free because we believe in this. But running an independent media platform still costs money – and that’s where you come in. Every contribution, big or small, helps keep Left Field going.
