Support Lee's Recovery from Transverse Myelitis
Donation protected
Dear friends & family,
I am reaching out to ask for your support for our friend Lee, who was diagnosed with an immune disorder and soon after, an infection in his brain and spine was found that he was unable to fight off on his own. The viral infection has caused a condition called Transverse Myelitis where the immune system attacks the spinal cord and causes inflammation. This rare neurological condition has left him with many challenges, including numbness in his lower body and the inability to walk.
Lee has always been a strong and independent individual, but this diagnosis has presented him with a new set of obstacles to overcome. After almost four weeks in the hospital, he is finally being discharged and will transition to Shirley Ryan, an intensive rehab hospital in Chicago for physical and occupational therapy to try and regain his mobility and function. However, the cost of these treatments and ongoing medical care is significant and has placed a financial strain on his family, including his wife Melinda and two small children.
I am starting this GoFundMe campaign to help raise funds for Lee’s medical expenses and rehabilitation costs. Your donation, no matter how big or small, will make a difference in his journey towards recovery and help alleviate the financial burden of medical bills; allowing Lee to focus on his recovery and Melinda to focus on caring for Lee and their children.
Thank you for your kindness and generosity during this difficult time for Lee and his family.
