Help Lee in His Fight Against Leukemia
This week has completely turned our world upside down. What started as a visit to the ER on Tuesday for Lee's sore leg quickly escalated after some concerning lab results, leading to his admission. By Wednesday afternoon, we were given the devastating news: Lee has leukemia. Today, we received the official diagnosis: B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
Lee has been transferred to the Cleveland Clinic for further treatment, which will begin immediately. Tomorrow, he will be getting a central line put in to start chemotherapy as soon as possible. He could be in the hospital for 4-6 weeks, and after that, he will be out of work for an extended period of time while he continues treatment. The journey ahead will be long and challenging, but the good news is that this form of leukemia is treatable, and we are holding onto hope.
I am Millie, Lee's fiancée, and I am currently working to finish my final semester of the Occupational Therapy Assistant program. I’m also not working right now because I’m attending clinical full-time. With Lee’s diagnosis, things are understandably difficult, and we are doing our best to navigate this challenging time together.
Many of you have already reached out, and your support means the world to us. For those asking how they can help, we are still processing everything, but if anyone would like to contribute to help cover the unexpected medical costs, travel, and other expenses during this time
Thank you so much for your love, prayers, and support. It truly means everything to us as we face this difficult journey together.
