Hi!
My name is Leelu Bare, I'm 18 years old, and I have just graduated high school. I'm looking to study wildlife conservation in 2026, but until then, I'm trying to complete an internship at the Naankuse Foundation in Namibia.
I recently volunteered with the Naankuse Foundation and learned more than I could have dreamed of. Conservation at Naankuse is not just centered around animals; it deals with the people, the landscapes, and the environment as a whole in Namibia. While staying here, I found a place that feels like home. I've never felt so known and at ease in a place so far away from where I was raised. Volunteering at Naankuse solidified how deeply I want to work in conservation and better the lives of both animals and people in my future.
I was offered an internship back at Naankuse where I would be helping deal with social media. I would be able to help make a lasting impact in a place that deserves the world. However, unfortunately, I would need to pay for accommodation. This internship is a dream come true for me. I would be able to combine social media and conservation, my two biggest passions, in my home away from home. Thank you for listening to my story, and if you have anything to spare, it would mean so much more than the world to me.
