Support Lee Vogler’s Recovery
Donation protected
On July 30, 2025, our friend, husband, father, and community leader Lee Vogler was the victim of a horrific and senseless act of violence. An individual entered his workplace at Showcase Magazine—where Lee serves as Director of Marketing—and set him on fire. Lee sustained second- and third-degree burns over more than half his body and is currently in stable but critical condition at the UNC Chapel Hill Burn Clinic. His wife, Blair, and their children are by his side as he begins what will be a long, painful, and uncertain recovery. He faces multiple surgeries, an extended hospital stay, and months—if not years—of rehabilitation.
For more than 13 years, Lee has served Danville as a dedicated city councilman, never missing a meeting and working tirelessly to revitalize the city he loves. He is a father who coaches his children’s sports teams, a husband who adores his family, and a friend who has always been there when others needed him. Now, Lee and his family need us. Because of the nature of this attack, workers’ compensation may not cover his injuries. Lee will be unable to work for the foreseeable future, and Blair will lose wages while caring for him. Their children are facing emotional trauma and uncertainty as their father fights to heal.
This fundraiser will support Lee, Blair, and their children with urgent expenses such as medical costs not covered by insurance, travel and lodging while Lee receives treatment, lost household income, and long-term recovery and rehabilitation needs. Blair shared these words from the hospital: “Lee is a fighter. He has always faced challenges with courage, determination, and an unbreakable spirit. We are incredibly thankful for the exceptional care at UNC Chapel Hill and the overwhelming support from friends, neighbors, and our Danville community. At this time, we kindly ask for privacy as Lee continues to heal, and we appreciate your continued prayers for our family and the medical team.”
Lee has given so much to his family, his community, and his friends. Now it’s our turn to give back. Please donate what you can and share this page to help support Lee’s fight and his family’s future.
