Hello all!
My name is Lee (they/them). I am a nonbinary individual and I was just able to have my gender affirming top surgery on 2/04/2025 after working towards it since 2023.
I was initially cleared to come back to work on restrictions after two weeks, and was scheduled 5.25 hours during that week.
However, my HR was on vacation that week, and when I punched in for my shift today, 2/25/2025, I was called into the HR office and informed that there weren't any roles I could fulfill on the restrictions outlined for me, and this would need to be on leave until 3/18/2025 when it is anticipated that I will be cleared for work without restrictions.
I did not plan to be out of work this long, and do not qualify for any short term disability or sick pay for this time.
I am asking for help to cover the missing hours for the remaining time off work so that I can continue to heal while still paying my bills.
The total time I will have been off work is 6 weeks, since I was short-shifted the one week I did return to work. I only work part time, as I am also pursuing my master's degree.
Any help you can provide will go directly to my bills.
