Support Lee Harrington's Battle Against Cancer
Donation protected
Update:
We have more information since I created this fundraiser. My dad has squamous cell carcinoma in his throat and tongue. He has undergone surgery to install his port and feeding tube. They did lots of scans and the cancer has not metastasized. We are so grateful for that. He has already started his chemo and radiation. He is doing mostly okay, but he described radiation as a sunburn from the inside out. He feels pretty miserable, but he has a good attitude.
I would ask you to please send more donations his way if you can. The only solution he could come up with for these treatments is to drive from Woodward to OKC and back again, a five hour round-trip, every day Monday through Friday. That's too much work for his old vehicle, which has needed a lot of attention since he started. He is spending a lot on gas and has needed to board his dog several times. I'd like to be able to give him a check for enough money for a cheap hotel stay or two, just to cut back on his driving. I know he is exhausted. If nothing else, we need to keep his ice cream stash stocked up since it's the one thing helping his throat.
Above all, thank you for all your kind thoughts and fervent prayers. I know he'll pull through this, and then we can finally bring him back to Carthage to be with his kids and his "babygrands."

My name is Melinda Luckey. Lee Harrington is my father and he needs your help.
He was informed recently that he has cancer in his neck and tongue. He is currently in the diagnostic phase, so we don't have a name for it yet. His biopsy results should be coming back soon to give us some answers.
My dad has done nothing but work hard his entire life, but now he's retired and living on a fixed income. He lives in the very small town of Woodward, OK and is having to travel frequently to OKC for his oncology appointments, scans, biopsies, etc. On top of maintaining his living expenses at home, gas, meals, hotel stays, car trouble, and other unexpected expenses are taking a toll. It is expensive and will continue to be so as they start treatment.
My dad intended to return to Carthage, MO after his retirement. He spent much of his life here as a younger man, and all of his children and grandchildren live here. He hasn't been able to make the move yet, but we hope to bring him back as soon as he is cancer-free. He is known and loved by so many, and we have so much time to make up for. I have no doubt that he will beat this disease. He's strong and he'll fight for us. But if we can ease his burdens in the meantime, it would mean the world to me. Please make a donation if you can, but whether you can donate or not, please send your love and prayers to him and our family. We need him around for a long time.
