Support Lee Ellis in His Health Battle
Donation protected
We are setting up this GoFundMe to support our friend, Lee Ellis, during this incredibly difficult and challenging time. With everything that he’s facing, and many decisions to be made, trying to decide how to pay for everything should not be another stressor in his life. The funds raised will help with expenses such as medical bills and financial support while Lee is unable to work.
Lee is diagnosed with stage 3 liver cirrhosis as well as congestive heart failure, failing kidneys, gallbladder failure, and toxin/fluid buildup in his legs.
His doctors are trying their best to get him stable. So far, he’s had a tube inserted into the gallbladder to drain the sludge and is on antibiotics for the kidney failure. The next steps are to do dialysis (he will likely need this for the rest of his life) to remove toxins and give his kidneys a chance to recover from septic shock.
Lee is mentally preparing for what his life will look like if he is able to become stable and discharged from the hospital.
His case worker is also working to get him into a PT rehab facility to assist with mobility issues (“I have the strength, I just don’t have the stamina”).
Lee and his friend, Jessica (co-author) are updating a Caring Bridge page to keep friends and family updated on Lee’s journey and health status.
Be sure to check it out to get the most current updates.
