Funeral for Leanne Hansen

My mom, Leanne Hansen, passed away November 7th at 3:12am from ALS, or Lou Gehrigs disease, at the age of 57. We have had many people ask if they can donate or help, so we created this Go Fund Me. We will be having a service for her in Mapleton, Utah on November 24th. We will also be having a service in Seattle, Washington, where she grew up and where all of her family is.
For those of you who know my mom, you know what an amazing person she was. She has always been full of life, making friends with everyone, even the checker at the grocery store. She made you feel so special, and included. She is extremely talented, she has always been an amazing painter and pianist. She was a dancer as a child, and at BYU she was a member of the Folkdance team, traveling the world and performing. She traveled even more with my dad in his music career with the BYU Young Ambassadors, and had become a "mom" to many people in that. She was always busy with us 6 kids, having us in all sorts of activities, and doing lots of driving, sewing costumes, attending school concerts, you name it.
She started feeling numbness in her left arm last December (2017), and was officially diagnosed with ALS in June of this year. In the months since then, things declined so much more rapidly then we ever imagined. We were told the day before Halloween that she would live until February, and then the day after Halloween, we were told she had 10 days. She ended up passing 6 days later. We were able to have her second son Matt (who lives in Alaska) come down before she passed, and Leanne's brother and his wife stayed with us during that time. Her sister visited before she passed as well. We feel blessed that we were all able to be by her bed side when she passed.

Thank you so much for all of your love and support. We have received so many emails, texts, and comments of Facebook of people sharing fun stories of her, and of your condolences. Your love and prayers are definitely felt by all of us. Thank you so much.
