Tax deductible
My name is Leanna and I have NF2-Related Schwannomatosis (NF2-SWN), a rare genetic disorder that causes tumors to grow along the nervous system. There is no cure.
I was diagnosed at 16 years old thanks to a very large tumor in my lower spine. Now 34, I have had a total of 13 tumors removed, have been on 3 experimental treatments, and am currently on an immunotherapy treatment to shrink my remaining brain tumor.
The month of May just so happens to be NF Awareness month and I am challenging myself to run 100 miles this month to help raise awareness and funds for Children’s Tumor Foundation (CTF). CTF’s main goal is to raise funds towards research to help find a cure for all of NF.
NF affects 1 in every 2,000 births worldwide. Anyone can be diagnosed with it regardless of race, gender, or ethnicity.
