Story:

Our friend Leanna Lester, an incredible mom, devoted “Gammaw,” loving wife, and cherished friend — is facing an unimaginable challenge. She’s been diagnosed with Ductal Carcinoma Breast Cancer, and due to a strong family history of breast cancer with recurrence, she and her medical team have made the courageous decision to move forward with a double mastectomy and immediate reconstruction.

Leanna is a pediatric dental assistant who brings joy, patience, and care to every child she works with. Now, as she prepares for a tough surgery and a long road to recovery, she’ll be stepping away from the work she loves for 6–8 weeks to heal — physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

Unfortunately, this time away means a sudden loss of income. While Leanna focuses on fighting cancer, she and her family will still face everyday financial responsibilities: their house payment, car payment, groceries, insurance, and the many out-of-pocket costs that come with surgery, follow-up appointments, and treatment.
