Leah is one of our closest friends and one of my wife’s best friends! She is a single mom of an ever-growing 13-year-old and the sole provider for her son and her mom. The picture is of her and her dad just a short time before he found out he had cancer and passed away a short time later. He was her hero, and she wanted to become an electrician like him! She became very sick about 10 days ago and wasn’t sure why. As a 2nd-year apprentice as an electrician and with no insurance, she knew going to the hospital or the ER was going to mean a lot of medical bills she can’t afford right now. If she doesn’t work, she doesn’t get paid. It finally got so bad that her son and her mom took her to the ER. She ended up having major surgery that night. She went home a couple days later but ended up back in the ER last night (Sunday night) and is probably looking at another major surgery. With all that said, bills still have to be paid. She has 2 other lives that depend on her to be able to work. When she is healthy, she is the hardest working person on any construction site. And after work, she is out selling plasma for extra money. Sometimes, it takes a village, and right now she needs the village. In no way would she ever ask for help, so this is being done behind her back. But she is going to be out of work for up to 8 weeks, and the bills don’t wait even when you’re sick! So please, just know any and all donations are going to the absolute best cause, and every single penny donated will go to her monthly bills and food to support her son and mom.
