On Sunday, January 11, 2026, Leah was simply heading home after watching the Buffalo Bills’ victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars—something that should have been a joyful end to a normal day. In a split second, everything changed. While driving on the expressway, another vehicle cut her off, forcing her to swerve. Leah lost control of her car and crashed into the guardrail.

By nothing short of a miracle, Leah survived. We truly believe an angel was watching over her that night, and we are endlessly grateful that she is still here today.

Leah suffered a devastating injury: her pelvis was shattered when her femur was forced into it. She underwent emergency surgery where doctors placed plates and screws to hold her body together. Her recovery will be long and painful—expected to take three to six months—and will require intense physical therapy and possibly time in a rehabilitation facility.

During this time, Leah will be unable to work. She is the sole provider for her two children, and she has always done whatever it takes to care for her family. Leah wears many hats—devoted mom, dog and cat mom, Uber driver, personal baker, private home care provider—but above all, she is a selfless, loving human being. She is the kind of person who would give you the shirt off her back, who shows up for everyone, and who never asks for help herself.

Now, Leah needs us.
