Hi, my name is Leah. I was diagnosed with stage 3 cervical cancer on Jan 4, 2024! I went through chemo, radiation, and other treatments, and many procedures to put me into remission, which I was for 3 months! At my 6-month PET scan, I was told it had come back in 3 tiny lymph nodes. My then doctor went on to tell me that due to the recurrence, I would have about 2 years left! I instantly left her office, and my husband called City of Hope Chicago, which made me feel better to know I have a doctor behind me fighting for me! I am currently getting the chemo cocktail; it's rough on me, but I have faith it's working! My husband is currently laid off, hopefully not for much longer, and he's also the one who takes me back and forth to Chicago and cares for me after my treatments, and I am unable to work. It has put us in a bind, to say the least! I do make crafts and whatnot when my energy level is up to it to help in any way I'm able! However, my treatment and life aren't cheap!
