Hi everyone, my name is Brittany. I am Kevin and Leah’s sister (in-law). As many of you may know, Leah was diagnosed with stage 1 Invasive Ductile Carcinoma. On June 12, 2024, Leah had a double mastectomy with direct to implant surgery. Healing after surgery was a bit of a struggle. With a few complications and developing an infection, she had to undergo another surgery to remove her implants. Her oncologist decided after surgery and more tests that she would benefit from chemotherapy. On Friday August 23, Leah had her port put in and started chemo on Monday the 26th. She still has a long road ahead. Leah is one of the strongest, most selfless women I know. She is always there to give her love and support to anyone that needs it. Leah has been out of work since May and Kevin has had to periodically take time away from work to be with her for her appointments and surgeries. As we all know, medical bills can be crippling and extremely stressful.
