Support Leaha Hunt's Healing Journey

My name is Madi Hunt Jones. I am Leaha and Bill Hunt’s daughter. On Saturday, July 19th, mom was rushed to St. Francis Hospital by ambulance after being found unconscious. At the hospital, they found her kidney function to be severely impaired. While in the emergency department, she was placed on a ventilator and transferred to the ICU. Her kidneys began to improve, but on Monday, July 21st, dad got a phone call in the middle of the night that her ventilator had become clogged, causing her to go without oxygen for several minutes. Her heart stopped, and she went into cardiac arrest. They were able to clear the ventilator and perform CPR to get her back.

Since Monday, she has made significant progress, and they were able to remove her ventilator on Tuesday. She has been moved out of the ICU. While she is making strides in her recovery, she is still battling an infection in her lungs and trying to maintain her kidney function. She will spend several more days, if not weeks, in the hospital.

I am making this GoFundMe to hopefully relieve any future financial burdens both mom and dad may face from medical expenses and being off of work. Many of you may not know, but mom has been diagnosed with Lupus and Sjogren’s autoimmune diseases. This has caused several medical issues, including lymphoma, as well as her kidney issues. They have both faced so many trials in the last year and a half, and I want to make her healing journey as easy as possible. With all that being said, we appreciate any donations and prayers sent her way.
