Support Leah to Bring her Father Home to Rest

I am a friend of Ruth Goode and her daughter Leah. Leah is in need of help at a vulnerable moment in her life and all funds will go directly to support her. It is a time of sorrow and joy for Leah and her family, and we appreciate any support you can offer.

From Leah's mom, Ruth:

Hello Friends. I find myself here humbly asking for any help possible for my youngest daughter, Leah Smith. Her father unexpectedly passed away on August 22nd. He went into cardiac arrest early that morning and the doctors were unable to save him. The news devastated Leah and caused her to go into premature labor and in the hospital for 4 days. She was just released and put under bed rest until the baby is born. Due to complications of this pregnancy, she will need a cesarean section. Baby Legend will also be born 6-7 weeks premature and in NICU for several weeks. Leah will be unable to work due to her procedure and the baby needing extra care.

To complicate matters, her father passed away in a hospital in Naperville, IL. He lived in Mt. Morris, MI and was on his way to see about a job when he became ill. Leah needs help in getting him cremated and home along with his car which is also in Illinois. She will also need help until she can get back to work after her medical restrictions are lifted. My child has worked very hard to get where she is today and the current events haven’t broken her spirit, just her momentum. Her dad was her hero throughout her life and she can’t imagine not seeing or talking to him again. I am so very proud of how she is handling all of this. Her village is small but we are mighty.

She is trying to keep the expenses to a minimum which is why she decided to have him cremated in IL and brought home. Cremation and transportation will be a minimum of $3500 plus her and the baby’s basic needs for a bit. Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Thoughts, prayers, kind uplifting words are always welcome. Any kind of supplies for a premature baby are also welcome and needed. I thank you in advance for taking the time to be here for my child.
