Thank you so much for your consideration in giving to my fundraiser. This is a request for financial support that will enable me to attend an International Symposium for Spasmodic Dysphonia (SD) in Phoenix, Arizona on May 3, 2025. In October 2016, I was diagnosed with SD, a rare neurological speech disorder, at 26 years old, 5 months after graduating college with my Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology.

This unique event brings together individuals affected by vocal disorders, their families, and professionals committed to improving our understanding and management of spasmodic dysphonia and related voice conditions. My plans are to fly into Arizona on May 1st, attend the Welcome Reception on May 2nd, attend the Symposium on May 3rd, and fly back home on Sunday, May 4th. For full transparency, receipts for the cost of the round-trip plane tickets for my mother and me ($931.83) and the cost of lodging ($477) can be sent upon request.
