At Lead Elementary, we serve a community of children in grades K-5 who come from a wide range of cultural and economic backgrounds. Our school is designated as Title I, meaning we receive federal funding to support a high percentage of students from low-income families. Over 75% of our students are eligible for free or reduced-price lunch, which reflects the economic challenges many of our families face.
Many of our community members rely on SNAP benefits to provide food for their families. Our goal with this fundraiser is to help relieve a little of the pressure that families will feel upon losing these benefits.*
How your donation helps:
-$25 could support a family’s fresh produce for a week.
-$50 could fill a pantry with staples like rice, beans, pasta, and canned goods.
-$100 could provide a full grocery trip for a family navigating tight finances.
Your support sends a powerful message to our students and families: you are seen, you matter, and you are supported. It helps ensure that our learners can come to school ready to learn and that their families can breathe a little easier during difficult times.
Thank you for standing with our Lead Elementary community. Please donate if you can, and feel free to share this campaign so we can reach as many families as possible.
*If SNAP benefits continue, we will give all proceeds to families in need of food support over the winter holidays.
We are teachers at Lead Elementary who want to raise money for our community. We will use the funds to stock a pantry at our school site as well as purchase grocery gift cards for as many families as possible in order to get them the support they need during this time. We will send the funds to our school site and community support liaison.
