Support Hackney based Lea Rowing Club's Junior Athletes! ‍♂️✨

Together, we can make sure no young athlete is left behind. Let’s create a legacy on the water for these inspiring juniors!

As a charity Lea RC is looking to reach out into communities not traditionally associated with rowing.

We compete against well funded private schools and colleges and are as motivated as our young athletes to level the playing field and try to provide them with the right equipment that allows them to maximise their potential.

We have young athletes in our Performance programmes who are in the Great Britain (GB) Rowing trial system.

We need your help to give our junior rowers the opportunity to compete on a level playing field.

Lea Rowing Club, a registered charity, is home to some of East London's most talented young athletes, but we urgently need a top-quality Wintec International single sculling boat to support their journey to the top!

Why this matters

Many families simply cannot afford to purchase a single sculling boat, which costs thousands of pounds. While the club prioritises funding double and quad boats that serve more athletes, the lack of a competitive single sculling boat creates a significant disadvantage for those training and competing individually.

A new Wintec International boat will:

• Serve its initial purpose of supporting GB trial athletes for the next 6-7 years.

• Continue to be in active use for at least another 10 years, benefiting countless young rowers over its lifespan.

• Support GB trial athletes: Ensure our rowers compete on equal footing.

• Boost inclusivity: Provide opportunities for juniors who can't afford their own boats for many years to come.

• Develop future Olympians: Help us nurture top-level talent for Team GB!
