Support Layne after the unexpected loss of Erica Hayes

Dear Friends and Family,

We are writing this with heavy hearts to announce the unexpected loss of our dear friend Erica Lee Hayes on March 29th 2025. Erica is survived by her only child and son Layne Hayes, her beloved dogs, and many friends and family who loved her deeply.

We are absolutely devastated by the news of Erica’s passing and are creating this fundraiser in her honor to help support her son during this difficult time. The funds from this will be given directly to Layne to ensure that he is financially

secure now and in the future as he turns 18 in two short months.

He has begun the process of looking for an apartment near the Wake Tech campus as he plans to attend in the fall before transferring to UNC Asheville in the next academic year. The money raised will also be used for any funeral/celebration of life accommodations , and used to help re-home their four dogs.

We hope that this will help us to give Layne a good start to life on his own and will help him to build the future we know Erica wanted for him.
