On August 9, 2024, Layla, a bright and energetic 10-year-old, was diagnosed with leukemia. This diagnosis has brought an overwhelming wave of uncertainty and hardship to Layla and her family, but their love and determination to fight this battle are unwavering.

Layla is a remarkable 5th grader at Andrew Jackson Elementary School. Her curiosity and enthusiasm for life shine brightly through her many interests. She loves science, enjoys helping others, and finds joy in swimming, skating, and riding bikes. Her passion for learning and helping people is matched only by her love for her friends and family. Layla is a beacon of joy and positivity. She has an infectious smile that lights up any room, and her zest for life is truly inspiring. Whether she's hanging out with her friends, making her siblings laugh, or pursuing her hobbies with boundless enthusiasm, Layla's spirit is a testament to her strength and resilience.

Layla is not only a wonderful sister to her four siblings, but also a source of support and love for her family. Her parents, who are doing everything they can to provide for their children, now face the additional burden of medical expenses and time away from work to care for Layla during her treatment.
