Layla, my 15-year-old daughter, has always been dedicated to her 4H projects. This season, she tragically lost her project cow, Tigger, in an abrupt and heartbreaking way. Tigger was more than just an animal—he was a companion and a big part of Layla’s life and her 4H journey. The loss has been tough, both emotionally and financially, as Layla had invested so much time, care, and resources into raising Tigger.

Layla is a hard-working honor roll student who volunteers in the children’s program at church every weekend. She also plays volleyball and basketball, balancing her academics, sports, and community service with her passion for 4H. She has earned reserve grand champion in showmanship, showing her dedication and skill. The finances from her 4H projects over the years are meant to help her purchase her own first car, so this loss impacts her long-term goals as well. The 4H motto, 'To make the best better,' truly describes her spirit and determination to keep moving forward, even in the face of adversity.
