Support Layla Johnson in her medical recovery

Hello everyone! We are making this gofundme on behalf of Jessica and Jeremy. On June 25th Jessica and the kids were in a terrible car accident. Piper, Barrett, and Jessica have bumps, bruises and a couple staples, but Layla got the worst of it.

She was transferred to Methodist in Indy with a broken pelvis and sacrum. She also has a broken clavicle, nose, and a contusion on her lung. At first the doctors thought there were no significant brain injuries as all initial and subsequent CT scans were clear. However, after 24 hours and Layla was still not “coming to” the doctors were puzzled. After a lot of advocating, Layla was able to get an MRI where they discovered a TBI affecting multiple areas of her brain.

Layla has already had surgery on her pelvis. The ortho doctor was hopeful they could just manipulate her hips/pelvis to reset it however once they got in they discovered it was worse than expected. The surgeon had to put two screws in the back to keep the stabilization of her pelvis in place. Her pubic symphysis was broken in half and is now held together with plates and screws.

The plan at this point is to transfer Layla to an acute rehabilitation center where they anticipate she will need intensive therapy for weeks to months.

We are asking for help in support of Layla and her family. While the final costs are unknown, we are aware this will have a significant impact. The out of pocket max on insurance is $6000 (only 100 has been spent so far this year meaning the majority of initial costs come out of pocket). Jessica, Jeremy and their spouses have been driving back and forth which presents a lot of needs for gas, food, housing, etc. Please consider supporting Layla and her family as they navigate this difficult situation.
