Hey Friends,

Please meet Lawson Brady — our 7-year-old son, grandson, nephew, cousin, and our favorite little superhero. My name is Brooks Benson, his uncle.

On January 7, 2026, Lawson was involved in a devastating car accident in East Idaho while traveling with his sister. In a single moment, his sweet little world changed forever.

After amazing responders helped stabilize him, Lawson was flown by helicopter and then a medical plane from Idaho to Primary Children's Medical Center in Utah. Lawson suffered severe head and brain trauma, including multiple skull and facial fractures. Due to life-threatening swelling in his brain, doctors were forced to remove the left side of his skull in an emergency procedure to save his life. He also sustained a lacerated spleen and other serious injuries. Lawson is currently fighting bravely like the warrior he has always been in the ICU, surrounded by incredible medical professionals — and by a family who loves him beyond words.

Right now, the focus is on survival and healing. The road ahead for Lawson will be long, uncertain, and filled with intensive medical care, surgeries, therapies, and rehabilitation. In the months and years ahead, the focus will be on recovery — helping Lawson relearn, regain strength, and reclaim as much of his childhood as possible.

Lawson is a tough, joyful, courageous little boy. He loves being a kid. He loves to laugh and smile. He loves to play sports and do all things young boys do, but with a little more fight. And right now, he is showing a strength and fight far beyond his years.

As a family, watching Lawson fight for his life is something we never imagined. We are asking for help — not because it’s easy, but because the burden ahead is overwhelming, and we will NEVER give up on this kid! The medical bills, travel costs, time away from work, long-term therapies, and unknown future expenses will be immense, and these funds will be used to assist with these costs and expenses.
