Lavender’s Brave Heart Needs Our Help
Eight years ago, a beautiful baby girl named Lavender came into the world — strong, sweet, and full of light. But just three days after her birth, her parents’ world was turned upside down. Lavender was diagnosed with a rare and life-threatening heart defect called severe aortic stenosis — something that had gone completely undetected during all of Amber’s ultrasounds.
At only four days old, Lavender underwent emergency, life-saving heart surgery. The procedure was meant to be a temporary fix — a “band-aid” to give her time to grow. Her doctors warned that as she got older, her heart would need more help.
And for the last eight years, Lavender has fought harder than most people do in a lifetime.
She’s faced countless hospital stays, and two other heart surgery's done via catheterization always with the bravery and bright spirit that make her who she is.
But now, her little heart is tired. Lavender has entered heart failure, and she can no longer do the things that make her smile — like dancing, riding her bike, exploring outside, or even attending school.
On November 14th, Lavender will undergo her first major open-heart surgery at UCSF Medical Center at Mission Bay San Francisco. Her doctors will attempt to repair both her mitral and aortic valves. If that’s not possible, they’ll have to perform a full valve replacement. Either way, this will be the hardest surgery of her life — followed by weeks in the hospital and months of recovery.
Amber and Brandon are doing everything they can to stay strong for Lavender and her big brother, Grayson. But alongside the fear and uncertainty, they’re facing another heavy burden — financial strain.
Amber has had to leave her job to care for Lavender full-time, and Brandon will be taking unpaid time off to be by her side. Amber will also need to stay in a nearby hotel for at least two weeks, as hospital housing isn’t available.
Amber and Brandon would never ask for help themselves, but right now, they truly need our support. I’m asking on their behalf to help ease the heavy load they’re carrying.
Your donation will help cover:
❤️ Hotel and travel expenses so Amber can stay close to Lavender
❤️ Lost wages so Brandon can be there for his daughter
❤️ Meals, parking, and the many unexpected costs that come with long hospital stays
Lavender has shown more courage in her eight short years than most of us will in a lifetime. Every dollar raised will help her family focus on what matters most — getting her through this surgery and back home to the life and laughter she loves.
If you can, please donate and share Lavender’s story. Even the smallest act of kindness can help lift this family through the hardest chapter of their lives.
Thank you for helping keep Lavender’s brave heart beating.
