Hello my name is Lauryn , I wanted to update my post and be more transparent.

I am a special/ general ed preschool teacher who is really struggling. This year has been tough for me and my family. I am a young adult who has been living at home with my family and as with any family, that has aging grandparents, as they begin to age, the family has to make changes in their living environment to accommodate them. It has me sleeping couch to couch, but I’m ok with that. It’s temporary to make them comfortable My grandparents are 88 and 92 we have been lucky to have them. However, this year my grandfather has become terminally ill and my grandmother has mobility issues. And no, not every family qualifies for eldercare. I am seeing my mom staying home, taking time from work and losing pay to care for my grandparents.

So when our family car that we all rely on seized, the week before Christmas, I knew it was more than this small family could handle. I need my car to get to work and school. I love my job. I am working on a degree to try and earn more money to help my family, but have a huge tuition bill. Under normal circumstances, I can rely on my family for help. But this time I felt like they needed a little help to fix this problem.

I did not want lose my job due to lack of transportation. I needed to find a way to get this fixed by the time the school year starts. That’s when I got the idea to do a gofund page. I thought I will ask for money to fix the car and also help with the other family expenses.

To those of you that donated thank you. And to those of you that know me, know my family. Yes, even people that seem like they have it all can be affected by life and there’s no reason why they should not be able to ask for help. I knew my family was too prideful to ask for help, so I asked for them. I was not asking for large donations a $5 here and there can add up to help people when they are in need. I realize it’s Christmas, but unfortunately the car broke down during Christmas. Any help given will be appreciated.
