We are fundraising for Laurie Dumas for her lodging for her to stay in Syracuse in order to participate in a treatment/study to test and hopefully improve her aphasia symptoms post stroke.
In 2019 Laurie experienced a seizure after experiencing extreme harassment at her workplace. She was left with brain injuries that prevent her from being able to communicate fluently, known as aphasia. Since this event she has suffered two more strokes and has been attending speech therapy for the past two years.
Laurie needs funding to cover her lodging while being a part of a study at Syracuse University that is seeking to work on treating and improve aphasia symptoms.
She will be attending the study/treatment for the month of March and will need to travel and afford lodging while staying there.
Any treatment she receives will hopefully help improve and understand this condition as well as help others who may suffer from the same condition.
She appreciates any and all help on her journey toward improvement.
