Support Laurie's Fight Against Cancer

Our amazing "YoYo" - Laurie Denhem (Wade) turned 60 this last April. Shortly after our family beach trip to celebrate she had a CT scan scheduled to hopefully bring about some answers to ongoing discomfort and pain she had been having in her abdominal area. Unfortunately, the results were ones no one saw coming. The CT revealed cancer on both the liver and spleen. Further tests confirmed that the cancer had metastasized from the ovaries.

These tests lead to a biopsy she had done a couple weeks ago and the biopsy revealed that her cancer is a High Grade Serous Carcinoma (HGSC - Stage 3c). In short this means that she has a road ahead of her. So far, she has three rounds of chemo (the first one started today) and then will be having major surgery to remove her ovaries sometime this July.

She is a single income household based largely on commission. While Laurie is a very strong and independent woman we are hoping everyone can come together to give what they can to provide a little relief for her to cover what is to come. For those of you reading this because a mutual friend shared and don't know Laurie personally...she is a loving mother to 3 kids (Ashley, Mitch & Teylor) and "YoYo" to 4 beautiful grandkids (Nora, Brody, Kaden & Grayson), a gardener, a wine lover, and an all around family person.
