We are Terry and Cindy Vinduska, and we are requesting your financial help for our dear friend Laurie Holub. What follows are Laurie's words:
"Hi, my name is Laurie Holub, and I'm reaching out during a very difficult time in my life; physically, emotionally, and financially.
Over the past three years, I've undergone multiple bowel surgeries due to chronic and severe gastrointestinal issues. Unfortunately, many of these surgeries, performed locally in Wichita, were unsuccessful and led to further complications. As a result, I developed a serious infection that continues to impact my health today. This has left me with limited mobility, chronic pain, frequent reliance on antibiotics and medications, and periods where I'm homebound and dependent on my family for daily care. It's been overwhelming, not just for me, but for my loved ones as well.
Due to the complexity of my condition and an additional diagnosis of Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia, my local specialists referred me to the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio, where a more experienced surgical team is now overseeing my care. Since June 1, I have traveled to Cleveland five times, undergoing three major surgeries and two follow-up visits. Many more appointments and procedures are still ahead.
The level of care has been life-altering, but it comes with a heavy financial burden. Since June, my family and I have spent an estimated $7,500 out of pocket covering travel, lodging, and other non-insured medical expenses. The costs continue to mount with each required trip, and several more are coming in the months ahead. We simply can't do this alone anymore.
I'm humbly asking for help to continue receiving the care I need. Your donation will go directly toward: ongoing travel and lodging expenses to and from Cleveland, out-of-pocket medical bills, post-surgery recovery costs, and necessary long-term care support.
Throughout this journey, no matter how hard, I have felt the priceless presence of God with me daily. I could not go through this without my faith in a God that is stronger than this illness and without the prayers of my many family, friends, and loved ones. Your support, prayers, visits, and kindness have meant the world to me. I truly can't thank you enough for walking this journey with me.
With all my heart and for the glory of God,"
Laurie Holub
