Support Laurie Conway's Mayo Clinic Journey

My name is Michael Conway,

My wife of 15 years - Laurie - is in need of your help.

Laurie has been treated off and on for a chronic staph infection for over 8 years. We have seen various doctors including infectious disease, internal medicine and more who have tried everything they can to make her better.

She has endured multiple treatments and tests that have resulted in short-term relief only to have the infection return within weeks. We have exhausted our resources of insurance and the local medical community resources - with no long term success. We have a chance to go to the Mayo Clinic in Arizona where they are known for finding answers that others cannot.

The Mayo Clinic has a worldwide community of doctors to pull ideas from without the limitations of insurance preauthorizations and policies. We have been put on waitlists of other local (and less costly) resources and were told it could be up to a year before we even get in for the tests needed to diagnose.

Laurie and I are the proud grandparents of 6 incredible kids and own a daycare (one that Laurie has had for over 40 years) and waiting another year to just get in for tests seems unbearable and untenable. This chronic pain and fatigue have cost her time with our family and shut down of the daycare - therefore losing valuable income.

The downside of the Mayo Clinic is they do not accept our insurance and require a downpayment of $5000 in order to make an appointment - with an estimate of services of $20000 to get the answers we need in order to beat this thing once and for all. We want to leave no stone unturned. This $20000 is outside of the cost of traveling and staying in Arizona during the week of tests. We are looking forward to getting an answer with the Mayo Clinic’s tests that the medical resources here cannot even do.
