On August 1st, Lauren lost her job. August 3rd - she got COVID. On the 15th - strep throat. Since then, the medical issues have spiraled. A rash that she thought was eczema began to take over. Steroids didn’t help. Creams didn’t help. In mid-September, it spread onto her breast, causing an open wound. She was admitted into the hospital for test after test. Monkeypox was one of the initial thoughts. However, that was ruled out. There were so many things tested she honestly can’t remember everything they looked into. After 6 days, they released her with no answers. Now, after multiple emergency room visits and multiple doctors, she still doesn’t have answers. The doctors tell her they are just treating her symptoms until she can get in to UTSW. On top of all that, the steroids are now causing kidney damage.

Her medical bills are piling up, and the UTSW appointments are going to require payment upfront.

We have faith that the wonderful people at UTSW will find answers, but the financial requirements to get there are overwhelming.

Lauren is the first to step up and support others. But now she needs us to step up.
