Hi, my name is Christine and this fundraiser is for my twin sister Lauren. My sister is a stroke survivor. Lauren was hospitalized in 2021, 2023, and 2025 for strokes. This last admission in June was the worst one yet. Her neurosurgeon confirmed that her prior stent placements had completely closed, and the only thing left to do to save her life is a brain bypass surgery. She was released after 6 days while she would await her brain surgery.

Unfortunately, she was only out of the hospital for 33 hours when she was found on the floor by our mother and was rushed to the hospital again. Her scans confirmed she had three more strokes during those 33 hours. Her surgeon wanted to give her a fighting chance, so he tried an angioplasty surgery to try and open up her last stent to buy her time before the big surgery in a couple of weeks/months. My sister has been left with right-sided paralysis, speech impairment, no range of motion in her right side, and cannot be alone.

My sister does live alone, she’s single and needs everyone’s help! Her medical bills are piling up and over a half a million dollars. She can’t pay her mortgage, had to have a full plumbing re-piping job a year ago which she also can’t pay and that is $35,000. Myself and our mother rotate taking care of her because she’s been left with the paralysis. My sister has the biggest, kindest heart of anyone I know and has always put everyone before herself.
