Five months ago, Lauren received the devastating diagnosis of lung cancer and COPD, with a prognosis of only five months to live. On Sunday, January 19th, Lauren faced another critical challenge when he was rushed to the ER at Hegg Health Center in Rock Valley, struggling to breathe. He was diagnosed with viral pneumonia, and the doctors delivered heartbreaking news to his children—Seaton, Trey, and Bailie—that their father may have only five days left.

This tragedy is especially poignant as, 20 years ago, Seaton, Trey, and Bailie lost their mother to cancer at a young age. Now, they are confronted with the heart-wrenching reality of losing their father to the same cruel disease.
