Support 9-Year-Old Lauren’s Brave Battle Against an Inoperable Brain Tumor

Hi friends,

I’m reaching out on behalf of a family in our church, whose beautiful and brave daughter Lauren is facing a heartbreaking medical crisis. She’s only about to turn 10, but she’s already showing more courage and strength than most of us could imagine.

Just a few days ago, Lauren was rushed to the hospital after her family noticed something was wrong. Doctors discovered a tumor at the back of her brain, which was blocking the normal flow of fluid and causing a life-threatening condition called hydrocephalus. She underwent emergency brain surgery to relieve the pressure, and thankfully, that surgery was successful. But that was just the beginning of her journey.

A follow-up MRI showed that the tumor is irregular, inoperable, and located in an incredibly delicate area—growing into her cerebellum and pressing against her brain stem. On top of everything, Lauren has just gone through a second surgery—a biopsy—so doctors can better understand the tumor and decide on the best treatment path, which will likely involve chemotherapy and possibly radiation.

Right now, Lauren doesn’t know that this is considered cancer. Her parents, Jeff and Amanda, are doing everything they can to protect her innocence while still being honest in ways she can understand. She’s more concerned about the small patch of hair that was shaved for surgery—unaware that she may lose much more.

But even in the middle of all this, Lauren is still smiling, joking, and making everyone laugh. She’s been pretending to stumble just so she can say “woah!” and make the nurses laugh. That’s just who she is—spicy, hilarious, and full of fight.

Why We're Asking for Help

Jeff and Amanda are completely devoted to their daughter, and right now, they are spending every moment by her side. The emotional toll is enormous, and so is the financial burden. Between hospital bills, travel expenses, meals, lodging, and lost income, the cost of being there for Lauren is rising fast.
