She’s always there to offer advice, lend an ear when you need to talk, and stay late to make sure a school activity goes off without a hitch. As a math teacher, Lauren made numbers fun and inspired her students to believe in themselves—she was the kind of teacher kids really looked up to. Lauren’s heart is as big as they come, and she’s always put others first, whether you’re a close friend, a colleague, or just someone who needed a hand.

Right now, Lauren is facing a tough fight: she’s been diagnosed with stage 4 Kidney Cancer. On top of that, she’s caring for a brand new baby and two awesome kids. The treatments are rough, and the everyday stuff—bills, meals, keeping the kids busy—can pile up fast. Through it all, her husband Chris is stepping up in every way he can, helping Lauren and the kids navigate this entire situation. His strength and dedication are a huge part of how the family is staying positive.
