On September 26th, Hurricane Helene blew through western North Caroline leaving devastating effects. Lauren's house is located just meters off the river in Marshall so as waters rose, Lauren, her husband, Jonny and beloved dog, Mabel were able to evacuate to an outpost where they spent the night on a raft on the ground as they rode out the storm.
Their house experienced some major flooding in the basement as well as damage to their well and electrical system. Repairs to those systems are still unknown.
We are raising funds to:
- recover the monetary loss of her inventory at Atomic Furnishing
- help cover the loss of potential income now that Atomic Furnishing basically no longer exists
- help cover repair costs to their home and property
- help cover living expenses during this time while Lauren and Jonny cannot work
- help provide financial support while Lauren, Jonny and Mabel emotionally recover from this traumatic event
