I'm in my second month of the MFA Products of Design program at SVA , and the financial aid office is already at my door. My registration for the spring semester has been put on hold until I can pay my remaining balance from fall.
Here's how we could get it done:
If 500 people donated $10
If 250 people donated $20
If 100 people donated $50
If 20 people donated $250
No amount is too small, every contribution adds up
I've been denied an additional student loan, tbh I'd love to avoid adding to what I already have. I've been doing everything I can, applying to scholarships and grants, speaking with my program about additional financial aid, and exploring every option. Despite all of this, I haven't been able to reach the full amount I need.
This program is full-time and has already taken over my life in the most challenging and transformative way. I'm learning at crazy pace. I'm constantly pushed, constantly growing, and genuinely excited about the next two years . That excitement is shadowed by the stress of figuring out how to stay enrolled.
I refuse to accept that only people from wealthy backgrounds or with significant family financial support have access to programs like this.
I love the work I'm able to do here.
I love the world-building.
I'm grateful for the resources and community.
I chose this program because I believe in what I'm building toward, the work I'm doing and the person I'm becoming through it. I'm asking for your support to help me keep going!
I have to acknowledge that pursuing grad school is a choice and a privilege. If you're prioritizing resources for more essential things, for yourself or your community, I see you and I get it ♥️
