Hi everyone,

On Thursday Dec 11th, my sister Lauren's bathroom fan caught fire while she was out with Finley, her daughter. The fan fell into the toilet, where it evaporated all of the water in the tank and obliterated the bowl. Lauren, Finn, and our dad arrived to discover the toilet and called the fire department.

When the FD arrived, they cut into the ceiling and discovered that the fire spread up into the rafters and the insulation. In the chaos of their efforts to suppress the flames, a pipe burst. Between smoke, debris, water, and mold, losses stand to be substantial.

On top of the fire, Finley has been ill for over a month. She was recently diagnosed with gastroparesis. She is emotionally off-balance, physically miserable, and has almost none of her toys or comfort spaces.

Lauren is a self-employed single mom. Finley is just six years old. They need all the help they can get back on their feet.
