Support Lauren and Maverick's Journey to Rebuild

Donation protected
My name is Lauren, I recently lost my home due to a house fire. I am the blessed parent of the most precious 4 year old little boy with non verbal autism.

The Purpose
this fundraiser is to help offset the cost to rebuild our Home and will be used to purchase the following.
  • Building materials
  • Tools
  • Appliances
  • Sensory and Safety equipment for Maverick
  • Proper paperwork, and Licenses to Build.
  • Contractors for Framing, Electrical, Plumbing and any other home building tasks that prove too difficult for me to do myself.
  • Replacement of some of Maverick’s favorite toys lost in the fire.

What Happened
tragedy struck June 13th when the home we built a life in burnt to the ground, we are okay but unfortunately our Dog Rufus did not make it. We were in a rent to own situation as a result the house insurance is not ours and does not go to us. Our amazing landlord who treated us like family for the nearly 6 years we lived there had to make the hard decision not to rebuild. He was a great landlord but he is getting older and simply doesn't want the hassle . I was able to use the down payment that was supposed to go towards the house to get the property. The neighborhood was peaceful and all of our neighbors were amazing. The property that once held our house holds so much more than that, it holds our memories our hearts and our future.

How We Move Forward
I have looked into having the house rebuilt but the cost of the loan is more than I can afford. The rent to own price was locked in at a much lower appraisal having been appraised years before the housing market went crazy and the price of wood skyrocketed . As it stands after talking to mortgage companies and contractors I am $50,000 short. The maximum loan amount I can guarantee to pay back without risking falling behind during life’s up’s and down’s is $120,000 and the cost to build the same home is $178,000. It’s estimated I could potentially save $20,000 buy doing parts of the house build myself ( insulation, drywall, painting, siding, etc…) and I very much intend to but unfortunately it still doesn’t offset the cost enough.

The Affect
My 4 year old son (Maverick) was recently medically diagnosed with non verbal autism. If any of you know / love someone with autism then you know routine and schedules is something they thrive with. I have looked into getting a 2nd full time job but I would have to work 80HRS a week for 3 years to be able to save enough to rebuild . I can’t take that much time away from my son when he needs me for security, comfort and routine now more than ever. I will be picking up a part time second job but hold out hope that this could inspire people to donate. As a mother with a non verbal child I am forever concerned with how this is affecting him. He is non verbal but he is so so very smart and knows something isn’t right. His routine, schedule, safety, and security left inside a house that no longer stands. My only wish is to bring my son back home to the house and community he was always supposed to be raised in.

How you can Help
I plead for your help whether I know you or not. I’m not asking for a lot from any of you but just a little from all whether it’s a donation or a share all is appreciated. It makes my heart break knowing I alone can’t fix this for him. I’m his mother and I can’t even ease his worries or know the thoughts he must be plagued with alone inside his mind. All I can do is set a goal, work hard and hope that with the compassion of others the future will be a little brighter in the end.

I will continue to update weekly on our lives and the progress we are making. I do not have Instagram or twitter but can be reached on Facebook.

Thank you all for the help I could never possibly repay.

if you have read this far please enjoy the photos of our dearly missed home and the memories we made within it.
