We are reaching out with heavy hearts and unwavering faith to ask for your prayers, love, and support for Laurel Hughes, a sweet and vibrant child who has suddenly been faced with a life-changing battle.

Laurel’s Story

On Friday, out of nowhere, Laurel lost the ability to walk, kept falling, and held her head tilted to the side. Within 30 minutes, she seemed fine again, but her parents, Tiffany Tolley & Dustin Hughes, rushed her to the ER. A CT scan revealed the unimaginable—a mass on the back of her brain, located near her spinal cord and brain stem.

She was immediately transported to Brenner Children’s Hospital in Winston-Salem, where she was admitted, underwent an MRI, and had a drain placed in her head to relieve pressure. After further testing, doctors confirmed our worst fear: Laurel has a tumor. While the surgeon believes it is cancerous, a biopsy will confirm for sure. The tumor is about 4 cm in size.

Laurel and her family are facing an incredibly difficult road ahead. Between major surgery, possible cancer treatments, and an extended hospital stay, the emotional and financial toll is overwhelming. Her parents are doing everything they can to be by her side, but they need our help.
