Support Laura's Journey to Adaptive CrossFit Games!
Donation protected
Laura has qualified for the Adaptive CrossFit Games in San Antonio Texas in September and needs your help to get there. The CrossFit Games is the premier event of the sport. More importantly, this year for the first time in its history, CrossFit is allowing ALL divisions of adaptive athletes to attend an in person games.
Laura’s love for CrossFit happened quite “accidentally.” She originally used it as a form of cross training for competitive para swimming. Very quickly she fell in love with the community, a community like no other- where everyone stays until the last person finishes the workout. Several months later, she attended her first WheelWod Games with other adapted athletes and knew she found an indescribable community- united by disability and using sport to change people’s perceptions about it.
Laura’s main goal is to grow the sport, particularly for others with neurological disabilities like hers so that they too can find their happy place and community. Her hope is to grow the seated adaptive division so perhaps someday there can be a seated neuro category. In supporting Laura, you are helping grow a sport that will have a ripple effect on many people’s lives.
Any donations will be used to help reduce Laura’s travel costs. Any remaining donations will be donated to help other adaptive athletes and to grow adaptive CrossFit. Thank you very much for your support. Stay tuned to follow Laura’s progress, event updates etc.
