Support Laura's Fight Against Glioblastoma

In April of this year, my beautiful sister-in-law began having migraines that were uncontrollable and different than her norm. Several visits to the hospital later, she was diagnosed with a golf ball-sized tumor in the center of her brain, which would later be diagnosed as Glioblastoma . She is the glue that keeps their beautiful family of 5 together.

Now, in November, her courageous battle against her glioblastoma continues. After an initial craniotomy in April and months of radiation and chemo through the end of summer, her tumor has come back with a vengeance. She has been part of a clinical trial wearing an Optune device, but it has not been successful in slowing this beast down.

Unfortunately, we are starting to see a lot of changes with her overall ability to process everyday tasks safely, like taking a shower, cooking, or even buying groceries.

Her older kids (15 and 16) have been phenomenal to weather the storm and help their mom as much as they can while my brother continues to work to provide for their family. Their youngest (8) does not fully understand what is happening to his sweet mama.

Last week, Laura had some significant concerning symptoms and was hospitalized for several days to receive IV steroids related to severe brain swelling. She was discharged and back in the ER by Sunday.

Monday, she saw a new surgeon, and this past Friday (11/7), she spent ELEVEN hours under anesthesia undergoing a second craniotomy to remove her tumor. Her neurosurgeon is the best in the industry when it comes to removing butterfly tumors (where the tumor is in both hemispheres), so we feel she was in the most capable hands to give her the best fighting chance.

This has been so incredibly hard on my brother and their three beautiful kiddos. Tanner is doing his best to continue to work and support their family and also be there as much as he can for Laura in this time too, but she is currently hospitalized an hour and a half away from home, and the bills are continuing to stack up. We know her battle is far from over.

If you are able to send a little love their way, it will be used to help with groceries, gas to visit her, medical bills, and the many expenses that come from having 3 kiddos at home.

In a season where finances are tight for many, you can also support by sending love and prayers their way and sharing this post for others to help support them!

We are so grateful for all the support they have received so far and continue to pray for a miracle. #wefightwithlaura #glioblastoma #optunetrial
